The markets may have an opinion on Scottish independence — but the No campaign has been mistaken in thinking that it matters. Capital markets should follow the will of the people, not lead it.

  1. Gosh, I really like this. Not just for its content – which I agree wholeheartedly with – but because you are doing the right and necessary thing: moving on from reportage to opinion. I am sure this is what you hanker after and am keen to know whether this is enabled by you working your notice and therefore being ready to be you (with all your analysis and insight) rather than just a purveyor of facts.

    Incidentally, did you see Owen Jones’s article in the Guardian last weekend about socialism for the rich. I thought it was dead good and well said. I have not yet worked out how to copy and paste a web address to mail on an iPad, so I will share it with you in another way, in case you are not already aware of it.
